Deciding to spend the first week of July in Paris, I officially revelled in my “vacation”. As a travel blogger, I am on-the-go much of the time and while I can hardly complain about this, there is always something on my mind. In fact, sometimes I find it hard to travel the way I did a few years back. Now, I’m always looking for story angles, snapping photographs of inspiring street or learning more about lifestyle trends from locals.
But in Paris, I was off to a relaxing vacation and nothing could stand in my way. In between wandering through my favorite neighborhood of Montmartre, drinking caipirinhas in the Latin Quarter and gazing upon the Eiffel Tower at night, I spent the majority of my time simply sitting at cafés and watching chic Parisian life go by.
For me, I honestly think that I fall in love with Paris more with every visit. Maybe the third time’s the charm, but seeing the City of Lights blooming with colorful flowers and green gardens easily stole my attentions away from my work worries. My other two trips to Paris both took place during the cold yet still romantic winter months. Like many others, I hope to one day live here, brush up on my French and further explore my ancestral roots.
The days lazily ticked on but before I knew it I was off to the airport for my return flight back to the states. While saying goodbye to a place like Paris feels more like parting with a best friend, I found comfort in my resolve to visit the glittering city again, hopefully sooner rather than later. Until then, Paris je t’aime!
